What is Aleppo Soap?
It is a handmade hard soap, free from all kinds of chemicals and colorants. It is made from olive oil, Laurel bay oil, sodium hydroxide (lye) and water.
Aleppo soap was emanated from the city of Aleppo in Syria. Were the earliest recipes for Aleppo soap originated back in 2000 B.C.
Process of manufacturing Aleppo soap
Aleppo soap looks and smell like the classic home-made soap. The smell of Aleppo soap vary in intensity depending on concentration of laurel oil. Usually it is between 1- 40%. This will also affect the final price of the soap.
Soap makers boil and press the mixture of ingredients. When the mixture is homogeneous it is spread over a large surface till it is partially dried. Workers cut it into cubes, stamp them with our brand name and place them in special underground chambers and left to age for several months up to a year.
